FAQ
How soon should I book in?
You should book when you are thinking about it, otherwise we tend to keep “forgetting”. I recommend booking at least 6 weeks ahead for Family Sessions and even further in advance for Maternity and Newborn Sessions, as they are time sensitive.
Saturday sessions are limited book ASAP to secure.
When and Where will the session take place?
Your Lifestyle Photography Session will take place either in your home or at a chosen location. In-home sessions are on weekday mornings only and location sessions are on Monday to Saturday in the hour before sunset.
What happens if one of us are ill or it is rainy/windy
We reschedule. Kids get sick (and then usually they share with us!) it happens and we cannot control the weather as much as we would like to. I just ask if someone is sick you notify me ASAP.
What should we expect at our session?
Your session will be relaxed, full of fun and directed by you and your children, I will give gentle direction if needed so don’t fret. You will find yourself getting caught up in the moment playing with your children, snuggling into them, laughing, tickling and kissing them all over.
What do we wear?
This is my most asked question and when you book your session I send you tips on what to wear and how to pick outfits. It is even easier to find a dress for your session with Mama Rentals. This amazing service hires out the most gorgeous gowns and something to suit everyone, whether it is a family , newborn or maternity session. I highly recommend that you take a look and take the stress out of shopping endless trying to find something. My kids never sit still for photos and they fake smile
Good! I don’t want them to sit still and smile at the camera. I want them to interact with you, play games, sing songs, tickle, run around, splash in the water, jump on the bed. I will capture the real them, the real smiles and all their personality and little traits. After all, those are the things you will want to remember. I will give some gentle direction and suggest some things to do together to help you little ones relax into the session.
My Partner HATES having their photo taken but I need family images.
You would be surprised how often I hear this but what I hear just as often is “that wasn’t as bad as I thought”, “that was a great afternoon, I had fun together”, “wow, that was easy, thanks for making it so relaxed and fun”. All these things and more are said. So don’t let that hold you back getting the family memories you need.
What is the best time for maternity & Newborn Sessions?
Maternity sessions are best between 32-36 weeks. Newborn sessions in the first 2 weeks but can be up to 10 weeks. It is best to book these sessions at about your half way mark. Your due date is used as a guide for your newborn booking.
DO YOU OFFER EXTENDED FAMILY SESSIONS?
Yes! Extended family sessions are for families (mum dad and their children) who would like to include their extended family such as their siblings and parents. Please contact me for pricing.
