PERSONAL POST - Our family session with My Captured Life

Family images are something that are so treasured, they are a tangible memory that can be shared with loved ones for generations to come. They evoke feelings, that sometimes lay deep inside you, they can make you smile, laugh till you cry, be grateful and most of all connected. For me, I am always behind the camera, capturing our beautiful family so they when our girls are older they have precious images to look back through and relive those moments together with their families. So when my very talented and dear friend Shelley from My Captured Life approached me to photograph (and video) my family for her workshop, Art & Soul: Adding Depth and Emotion to Storytelling Images' I was beyond honoured and excited. It would be our first family photo session (yes yes I know!).

We headed to the beach on a somewhat warm winters day ready to have some fun, relax, connect and share the moment together. Our girls are very active and LOVE the beach, however on this day, Miss A was VERY outgoing and somewhat hypo, she was loving it. Miss B was somewhat shy, reserved and just wanted to be. Shelley managed to capture our family perfectly and the images she has given us are beyond priceless for us. They are a precious moment in time that we all shared together. I actually am lost for words on what these mean to us.

Shelley you were beyond wonderful at our session, you could see that Miss B needed some time to just be and you gave it to her. You managed to capture our family exactly as we are and for that I thank you.

Here are just a few from the session. Please head over to Shelly's blog here to see some really amazing images from our session. To purchase her amazing workshop Art & Soul: Adding Depth and Emotion to Storytelling Images', which is on sale now click here
