The first year of life is a major milestone for little ones and parents, it is a time full of mixed emotions for parents and a special time of a child. Harriet had two special occasions, her baptism and her 1st birthday party celebrated with family and close friends. Harriets mum Elesha is a very talented photographer at Elle Rampling Photography but some of you may know her better as harryandthefrog on instagram. Elesha was talking to me about how busy her day was going to be and that she was upset that she would not get to enjoy the day. It is hard when you are a photographer to hand the reins over to someone else to capture your special occasion, firstly, sometimes it doesn't cross your mind as you can do it and secondly, you want it to be captured perfectly. When I said to Elesha that I would be happy to photograph the special day, she was over the moon, saying "Why didn't I think of that".
The baptism took place at Good Samaritan Church, Fairy Meadow. It was a beautiful service which was personal and somewhat funny, especially when the priest said "Come on, this is not even your first time" to Elesha when she couldn't get little Harriet over the holy bath.
Harriet was wearing a gown that has been worn for generations and she looked simply divine in it.
Following the baptism we headed to the fabulous Bill + James at Balgownie for the party. If you have not been there for a coffee and a bite to eat, then I highly suggest that you do. The simple and intimate styling was done by Mardee from Luxe Events and the flowers were supplied by Leah at Leah Mitchell Floral creating a rustic and natural look.
The delicious gold and glitter inspired cake pops were made by Mardee Mitchell and the amazing two tiered ruffled cake created by Summa Cakes.
Happy 1st Birthday Harry Girl! You are one loved little girl. Thank you to the Rampling family, especially Elesha for entrusting me with documenting your families special day, it was an honour and a privilege to spend it with you. A massive 'THANK YOU' to Az at Bill & James for all your hardwork and to the entire list of vendors who helped create this incredible day.
